I am drooling over this stunning minimalist Aussie home in Melbourne, designed by the amazing Fiona Lynch, one of Australia’s finest interior designers. With over 15 years of experience in the interior design industry, Fiona Lynch and her team are masters in creating artistic and unique interior spaces.
This project is a beautiful celebrations of strong natural materials and metals. One that creates an interior that oozes confidence and elegance. Rough concrete wall finishes are contrasted with striking brass panels and completed with fabulous moody blues and wonderful warm wooden tones. It is just breathtaking and makes me want to pack my bags and move to Melbourne. Scroll down for a tour of this abode.
The living room
My personal favourite. I am in love with the full height deep blue curtains framing the giant windows and the elegant and minimalist furniture and fireplace. It is bold yet wonderfully calming and delicate and makes you want to curl up with a good read and forget about the world for a bit.
With the risk of sounding like a broken record this is also one of my favourites.. I love how monochrome and reflective the kitchen design is of the interior, yet the true gem for me is a more subtle detail- the low window. Cleverly placed as a backsplash this window creates a view point that not only lets you look out onto plants but because of its position almost makes you feel like you are among plants. Magical.
The Dining Area
This monochrome open plan dining area flows perfectly between kitchen and living area. It is subtle and elegant in its decoration yet by positing the dining table under a full height ceiling Fiona Lynch adds a unique and dramatic dimension to the dining experience.
Sigh. Isn’t it beautiful? It’s simple and cosy yet so sophisticated. It proves that less really is more.
